CPCC announces finalists in search for next president

The Mecklenburg Times: CPCC to break ground on three projects

Central Piedmont Community College will break ground this fall on three construction projects being funded from a 2013 Mecklenburg County bond issue. The projects are among ten, totaling about $280 million, funded by the bonds.

CPCC Paramedic students train PSA Airlines staff

Imagine you're on a flight, cruising at an altitude of 30-plus thousand feet when you or the person next to you has a medical emergency. What do you do?
PSA Airlines, a regional airline headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, and a subsidiary of the American Airlines Group, wanted its crew members to be prepared in the event of an emergency on one of its aircraft. After all, in-flight medical emergencies occur in about 1 in every 604 flights according to the New England Journal of Medicine.
That's why the team partnered with CPCC's Paramedic program and requested the college's students train its crew on administering care in a close-quarters environment, such as an aircraft aisle or seat. Video
