Paying it Forward-CPCC Students Volunteer

Students from both the CPCC Dental Hygiene and Medical Assisting Programs will be participating in the North Carolina Mission of Mercy (MOM). MOM is a portable dental clinic program that is primarily sponsored by the N.C. Dental Health Fund, a non-profit organization administered by the North Carolina Dental Society.  The program seeks to address the access to care issue by providing complimentary dental treatment to the underserved population throughout the state who have few or no other options.

From May 15-20, 2011, the student chapter of the American Welding Society (AWS) at CPCC went on a service-learning project to New Orleans, La. The group worked for Phoenix New Orleans (PNOLA) renovating houses damaged by Hurricane Katrina. The team also spent time visiting historic and cultural landmarks around the city.

CPCC has a strong history of student service-learning projects that help develop the spirit of philanthropy. Thank you to all our student heros who so generously volunteer for service-learning and other volunteer projects.
