Merancas Campus -- North Campus to be Named

In recognition of the longtime support of Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) donors Casey and Anke Mermans, founders of The Merancas Foundation, the College has renamed its North Campus in Huntersville, N.C., the Merancas Campus. A naming ceremony will be held at the campus this fall to honor the couple's generosity and philanthropic spirit."The Merancas Foundation has supported CPCC and its many programs for almost 20 years," said Dr. Tony Zeiss, president of CPCC. "Casey and Anke have always subscribed to CPCC's mission to help individuals prepare for today's workforce by equipping them with the skills they need to be successful. Because of the Mermans' generosity, CPCC will be able to offer the training programs necessary to accomplish this goal for years to come. Therefore it is only appropriate that we give our North Campus the Merancas name for a Foundation that believes in helping adults become self-sufficient, productive citizens."
