The Legacy Society

Membership in the Central Piedmont Legacy Society is open to individuals who inform us that they have provided for the college in their wills or trusts, or through other planned giving options:

  • Bequests
  • Charitable Gift Annuity
  • Charitable Remainder Trust
  • Life Insurance Policy
  • Memorial Gifts
  • Retirement Plan Beneficiary
  • Revocable Trust
  • Outright gifts of Marketable Assets (for example, property and securities)

Legacy Society members will receive benefits such as:

  • Invitation to an annual recognition event hosted by the college President
  • Recognition in the Foundation's Annual Report
  • Publications describing Central Piedmont's events and significant achievements
  • A charitable tax deduction
  • Reduction of estate settlement costs
  • Reduced capital gains taxes
  • Possible increased spendable income
  • Possible Income for your and/or a loved one's lifetime

To be a member of the Legacy Society, you need to notify the Foundation of your intent to make a bequest or planned gift. If you would like to learn more about a certain type of planned or deferred gift, we can provide details. Legacy Society members may direct their gifts or bequest plans for the general support of the college or to benefit a specific program.

The Foundation's legal name is:  Central Piedmont Community College Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located at 1322 East Fourth Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.

An annual administrative fee of 1% of market value is charged to endowments managed by the Central Piedmont Community College Foundation.
