Associate of Applied Science - Interior Design, May 2016
Received the Levine Scholarship in her final semester

It's never too late to pursue your passion. Having already completed a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field, Kayleigh Walker decided it was time to embark on a new adventure.

"I knew I wanted to go into interior design, so I researched which schools were the best fit for me. I spoke with several members in the interior design community, and they all highly recommended Central Piedmont Community College. It was definitely the best choice for me."

"I guess I am not your typical student because of my past educational experience. I went from graduating with my bachelor's degree, to attending graduate school, to nearly obtaining my associate degree. I went a little backwards! But honestly, this program has been one of the hardest educational programs I have been a part of. I've had to challenge myself in ways I've never had to do before. I've really benefited from the hands-on nature of the program and personal attention from my professors. I've learned so much more than I ever expected."

"Interior design is not just about decorating I've learned about architecture and building codes as well. In fact, after being in this program, architectural design has sparked my interest."

With her degree, Kayleigh plans make her mark in the world of commercial interior design.
