Gratitude Celebration FAQ
What is the purpose of this event?
This celebration brings together the scholars whose hard work inspires us and the donors whose generosity helps fuel their education. It is an opportunity to share stories, celebrate achievements, and build meaningful relationships over light breakfast bites in the Dena Diorio Student Commons of the Parr Center.
How should I prepare for conversations with donors?
Be genuine. Share your academic interests or dreams for your future career. Express gratitude for how scholarship support has positively impacted your education. Ask questions about your donor's connection to the Central Piedmont community and students.
What topics can I discuss with donors?
Share only what you are comfortable with, and we encourage you to highlight your studies, career goals, and hobbies. Donors want to get to know you!
What should I wear?
Dress code is business professional, which means your attire should be professional and comfortable for you. We encourage you to wear slacks and a nice shirt or a dress, but jeans and a nice shirt are okay. Please avoid wearing athletic wear, such as gym shorts, sweatpants, or yoga pants. We encourage you to dress for success and look your best! If you're in a clinical program with required scrubs and are coming from or heading to class, however, please do not worry about changing.
Can I bring anything to the event?
Bring a positive attitude and be ready to engage in meaningful conversation! You may also wish to bring a notebook to jot down notes or contact information.
I have another question. Who can I talk to?
Anne Lambert, Director of Donor Relations & Stewardship with Central Piedmont's Foundation team, is more than happy to speak with you. Please reach out to her at anne.lambert@cpcc.edu or call 704.330.6869. An alternative number is 704.330.6053.
