Oral Health Initiative Project at CPCC makes preschoolers smile!

BlueCross/BlueShield of North Carolina Oral Health Initiative Project   partnered with CPCC  dental hygiene, dental assisting and early childhood education students and five local preschools to to teach preschools early oral health habits good-for-your-teeth foods, flossing, brushing, and going to the dentist. It was a trip that delighted preschoolers, family members, staff and students alike. Preschoolers, their teachers and families received helpful information and services and our CPCC students received practical experieince and training in their respective fields. CPCC will opt out of the federal student loan program

A CPCC spokesman said the board of trustees approved the move March 5 base on "concerns for students' financial well-being and the need to protect other types of federal aid the college receives and can provide."

Of the 58 community colleges in North Carolina, only 24 still participate in the federal direct loan program, Lowrance said, adding that state lawmakers no longer require schools to participate. Read more
