Celebrating the CPCC Legacy Society
September 28, 2015The CPCC Legacy Society consists of donors who have named the CPCC Foundation Inc. a recipient of a planned gift, through their wills or trusts, life insurance, a charitable gift annuity, IRA designation, a gift of real property or other planned gift option. Legacy members assure that CPCC will remain a vital resource in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region. Members of the CPCC Legacy Society were recently celebrated at the Legacy Society "Evening of Stars." September 10, 2015'International Show' celebrates 10 years
Maha Gingrich, host of a TV show called "Charlotte, A City of International Success," said she looks forward to thanking the show's guests during the 10th anniversary celebration.

Maha Gingrich has been active in the Charlotte community for years.
A southwest Mecklenburg County resident, she has served and continues to serve on several boards, including International House and the Women's Inter-Cultural Exchange. She is the second woman to be named president of the Charlotte North Rotary Club in the club's more than 60-year existence. She is also the international community liaison at Central Piedmont Community College and assistant to the vice president. CPCC Dedicates Building to Honor Dr. Kathy Drumm
August 7, 2015Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) dedicated its facilities services building today in honor of retired executive vice president and long-time college administrator Dr. Kathy H. Drumm.
The college dedicated the building, located on 7th street in Charlotte, on CPCC's Central Campus, in recognition of Drumm's more than 25 years of exemplary service to the college and community. As CPCC executive vice present from 1998 to 2014, Drumm was instrumental in guiding the college's growth and ensuring its vitality and responsiveness to the needs of its students and Mecklenburg County.
The building, now known as the Kathy H. Drumm Facilities Services Building, served as the site of the 10 a.m., dedication ceremony. Those speaking during the ceremony included Dr. Tony Zeiss, CPCC president; Ed Dalrymple, chair of the CPCC Board of Trustees; Thomas Norman, chair of the CPCC Foundation Board of Directors; Pat Rodgers, president and CEO of Rodgers Builders; and Dr. Drumm. July 1, 2015On June 11, 2015, nurisng alumni gathered to celebrate the success of the Christa A. Overcash Associate Degree in Nursing program. After welcoming remarks and shared success stories, the alumni were treated to tours of the new simulation labs and instructional spaces. Current students and May graduates of the program acted as tour guides and hosts for the evening.

CPCC Friend and Benefactor, Allen Tate Dies at 84
June 23, 2015Charlotte real estate company founder Allen Tate dies at 84
To understand Allen Tate's influence on Charlotte, just take a drive around town.
Neighborhoods he developed dot the city, from Kingswood to Montibello to Foxcroft.
He helped build what is now Sharon Corners shopping center, about 10 years before SouthPark Mall opened paving the way for development that has dramatically transformed that area in recent decades.
And, of course, his company's burgundy-and-gold for-sale signs jut out of front yards stretching from Raleigh to Greenville, S.C.
Tate, founder of the Charlotte-based real estate firm that bears his name, died Monday at his home. He was 84.

CPCC President to Deliver Keynote at Work Force Development Conference in Spain
